How To Transfer Files From Bluestacks To Windows PC

BlueStacks is an amazing app that lets you access your most android apps on your windows pc, but because it stores its operating system and incidentally all of it’s files and folders in a “image” file, sometimes it can be difficult to share things between content in BlueStacks and your PC.

So by popular demand, I have finally gotten around to detailing the process I use to access downloaded files from within Bluestacks on my PC. What follows is a quick 5 step tutorial on how you can do the same.

Steps To Transfer Files From Bluestacks To PC

  • Within BlueStacks, You will need to search for and install the ES File Explorer App.

  • After you have installed ES File Explorer, go ahead and open it. Browse your file structure until you come across the root folder you wish to gain access to in Windows. In the example below, I’ve chosen the download folder which will be:

  • Once you’ve chosen your folder, Hold down the left mouse button to select it.

Then click the Copy button highlighted in red as shown above.

  • Then you just need to browse to the Shared folder in BlueStacks and use the paste feature to make the folder accessible in Windows!

BlueStacks Shared Folder

  • Finally – To access your shared folder in Windows, simple browse to the location as shown in below picture:

That should do it!

You should now be able to easily access your files and folders within Bluestacks on your PC! For even easier access you can create a shortcut to the BlueStacks shared folder on your desktop. Please let me know if you encounter any hurdles along the way or if you would like me to explain any part of the process in more depth.

If you have any question about this you can ask via the comment box and I will reply you

How Does The Recently Launched Facebook Profile Guard Works?

Facebook on Wednesday launched a new tool to check on the misuse  profile picture, especially for women. Many women prefer not to upload their photos as profile pictures fearing that someone might use it for wrong reasons. The Facebook profile picture guard will keep your profile picture safe online by preventing the sharing, sending and downloading of the profile pictures.

Profile Guard was developed in partnership with various Indian safety organizations like Centre for Social Research, Learning Links Foundation, Breakthrough and Youth Ki Awaaz, and it is designed to give people more control over their experience and "help keep them safe online".

How Does The Facebook Profile Picture Guard Work?

Facebook states that the new profile picture guard will safeguard the profile picture, primarily in four ways.

  1. Others will not be able to download, share or message your profile pictures.
  2. Strangers will not be able to tag themselves or anyone else in your photos.
  3. If possible, Facebook will prevent people from taking screenshots of your profile picture (this is currently available for Android only)
  4. Facebook will display a shield icon at the bottom of your picture and a blue border around the edge. This would serve as a visual cue of protection for your profile picture.

How effective are these tools?

There is no way to hide your profile picture currently and it is always public by default. This new method by Facebook can discourage unauthorized access to your profile picture but won't weed out the problem completely. For better safety, it can add options to restrict the viewing of profile pictures to just friends and friends of friends.

Answers To Phone Battery Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

There have been so many questions regarding our smartphone battery, whether it is good to charge it always or not, whether it is advisable to charge a new battery up to 6 hours before normal usage and other vital questions. In this post I have compiled some of the major Battery Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) and I do hope it helps.

Important Questions About Phone Batteries And Answers

Must I Charge My New Phone To Full Capacity Before Using It?

Answer:  The answer is definitely "YES".
To determine a good battery, you have to charge the phone to its full capacity. This is no more the time of NiCad (Nickel cadmium), the era has been long gone and nowadays, Lithium-ion based batteries which do not use "chemical memory" as it's the case with NiCad which caused the battery to be dependent on how it is being charged or discharged.

Does My Battery Quality Deteriorate With Time?

Answer:  The answer to the question again is "YES".
Your battery decrease automatically over time even if you are not using it. Some people love phones with huge battery capacity and one year down the line, the battery get worse and you begin to wonder what you have done wrong. Lithium-ion batteries of today are built to last a certain number of cycles. Assuming, you use 80% of battery in one day and charge up to 100%, and use up to 20% the next day, it is assumed you have used or drained up the juice of that battery to qualify for a cycle. Depending on the device, a battery would have to go between 300 and 500 cycles before they attain about 75% of their original capacity.

Will Charging My Phone Overnight Or For Long Time Spoil My Phone?

Answer: I will say "YES" and "NO" to these question because normally, as our phone type of battery which is likely to be Lithium-ion based is equally programmed to stop current inflow when it has charged up to its full capacity. The temperature of where you charged depends because if you charge a phone in a hot place, there are chances that your phone might explode or swell up. I won't stand against charging phone overnight if only it is not kept in hot environment.

How Many Times Can I Charge My Device For A Day?

Answer: To be brief, Shane Broesk, a battery expert, advised a "frequent top-ups, rather than one daily charge up, is healthier for your battery". To give your battery a longer life, ensure to charge up your phone before it gets off. Always charge up because that's the best and optimal way to charge your phone.

I hope these simple Frequently Asked Queations (FAQ) had answered some of your smartphone battery issues. Be extremely careful when using your battery.

Again! Whatsapp Extends Deadline For Disconnecting Lower Android Versions Till 2020 With Conditions

An official statement has been made after announcing the extension given to Blackberry and S40 users to support Whatsapp till the end of  June 2017 and subsequent shift of deadline till December, 2018. This could be another good news because Whatsapp will continue to support older versions of Android till 2020.

Recall that Whatsapp had last year 2016 said they'll stop supporting Android 2.1Android 2.2 and some other devices including Blackberry and S40 by the end of 2016. But the same source is also giving users of older Android versions the assurance that WhatsApp will continue to function on those older versions especially Android 2.1, and Android 2.2 till 1st of February, 2020.

Facebook-owned Instant Messaging App-Whatsapp also added that not only will they continue to support those devices, they may no longer enjoy all the latest features because Whatsapp will no longer actively release new versions for these phones.

The 2 years grace is really enough for all those using older versions of Android to upgrade their phone if they still use a phone running on Android 2.0 downwards, get an Android phone that runs at least Android 5.1 or Android 6.0.
